Nobis staff conducts Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in all of the New England states. In addition to meeting ASTM All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) requirements, the team of Nobis environmental scientists, geologists, engineers and hydrogeologists employs sophisticated and cost-effective sampling techniques to develop conceptual site models and streamline remedial planning to meet state and federal regulatory requirements.

Nobis has conducted over 3,000 ASTM Phase I ESAs throughout 48 US states from 1988 to present, and over 200 Phase II ESAs for state agencies, municipalities, regional planning commissions, nonprofit organizations and commercial customers. The Nobis team includes ARCGIS, AutoCAD and MS Access professionals to provide mapping and Brownfields site inventory support. Nobis implements quality assurance and quality control throughout the assessment process, including Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP) development.

Over the last 3 years, Nobis conducted nine Targeted Brownfields Assessments (TBAs) through an EPA Region 1 RAC contract. As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), Nobis was also selected to provide EPA-Region 1 with Brownfield Assessment Services for three additional sites which required ARRA reporting and cost tracing, along with expedited assessment schedules.

Nobis conducted these TBAs throughout the Northeast which included former mill and industrial properties. Nobis was retained by the respective municipalities to conduct follow-up assessment and cleanup services for several of these TBA sites.
