Lori Cox
I am a Staff Engineer working located in our Concord, New Hampshire office. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters in Education from the University of New Haven. I chose environmental engineering because I enjoy chemistry and wanted to do something concrete about cleaning up the planet.
I live with my husband and two sons in Andover, New Hampshire. My home is within an hour and a half radius of several of my favorite places including downtown Boston, at the New Hampshire Seacoast, or Franconia Notch.
What do you do outside of work?
My hobbies include playing the flute with the Kearsarge Community Band and snowboarding. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and playing board games such as Blokus, Rumis, and Cadoo with my family. One thing you may not know about me is that I was a spelling bee champion at my school!
What is something that most people wouldn’t know about you?
I placed fourth at the High School State swim meet and broke two team records while on the swim team.
Why did you choose Nobis?
Nobis Engineering is a good fit for me, because I strive to be a good corporate citizen. I was looking for a company that would be willing to mentor me as an engineer, as I had been out of the workforce for several years.
What are you working on right now?
I am currently working on preparing industrial wastewater discharge permit applications, maintaining a soil vapor extraction system, and planning for a pilot test to recover No. 6 fuel oil in one site’s groundwater monitoring wells. I am also learning how to provide data validation in support of our Superfund projects.
