The TeamWalk is a celebration of life, spirit, and hope. The annual event raises monies that stay in the community for programs that support patients and their families of Lowell General Hospital.

Nobis sponsors The Wish Project Bikers for Beds event. With over 100 motorcyclists riding in this successful event, $4,000 was raised to purchase bed sets for children in need throughout the Greater Lowell Community.
Delano Receives SAME Boston Post S. Peter Volpe Aw // May 10 2011
Mr. Peter Delano, P.E., Principal of Nobis Engineering has been recognized by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)Boston Post as the recipient of the prestigious S. Peter Volpe Award. This annual achievement award honors a SAME member whose support and loyalty to the SAME Boston Post has been without fail. It signifies all that the SAME Boston Post and the award’s namesake are about—service to the Nation, leadership in the community, and support of the engineering profession. Since joining Nobis in 1998, Mr. Delano, has managed numerous engineering, remediation, construction, and facility contracts for the firm’s Federal agency clients. As Senior Vice President, he is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of Nobis’ growing Federal practice. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1985, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and graduated from the U.S. Army Engineer School in 1986. Mr. Delano served in the U.S. Army and New Jersy Army National Guard from 1985-1992 and retired as a Captain. He serves as a board member with several professional and civic organizations. Mr. Delano has served SAME as a past President of the SAME Piscataqua Post and Board of Directors as well as SAME Boston Post Small Business Committee Chair and Board of Directors.
Nobis Volunteers at BSCE Construction Careers Day // May 04 2011
Ms. Heidi Borchers and Mr. Nannu Nobis volunteer at the Boston Society of Civil Engineers (BSCE) annual Construction Careers Day held in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Over 800 high school students were interested in the construction industry. Governor Duvall Patrick attended. The goal was to provide kids a quick tast of some of the things civil engineers do—from estimating quantities to testing water samples for pH. Heidi and Nannu volunteered to assist with several of these fun and educational events.

Mr. Joe Barry joined Nobis as Marketing Director in the Lowell Office. He has over 15 years of industry marketing experience. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts. Most recently, he was the Regional Marketing Manager for GEI Consultants, Inc. responsible for the New England and Washington, DC regions.
Borchers Volunteers to Judge at UNH Interdisciplin // April 27 2011
Ms. Heidi Borchers volunteered to be a judge for the engineering industry student presentations at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Symposium (ISE). The ISE celebrates the scholarly achievements and research of hundreds of undergraduates. Nearly 250 students present their research through posters, demonstrations, oral presentations as well as answer questions from a synergetic mix of fellow students, family members, faculty, administration, industry and alumni.
Nobis Attends Brownfields 2011 Conference // April 05 2011
Nobis’ Brownfields Practice Team attends and participates in the Poster Gallery at the Brownfields 2011 Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Conference was sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Over 7,000 attendees, including Federal, Tribal, State and Municipal officials, consultants, non-profit agencies, regional planning commisssions and developers, met to listen to very informative and lively panel discusstions, to tour Brownfields success stories in the area, and to discuss the status of the industry, trends in Brownfield work, and to network. Nobis participated in the Conference Poster gallery by showcasing a poster of it’s Lowell Office turned from a Brownfields site into a LEED Gold sustainable facility.
Mischel Joins Nobis as Senior Project Engineer // March 14 2011
Mr. Greg Mischel, P.E. joined Nobis as a Senior Project Engineer in the Lowell Office. He has over 20 years experience in geotechnical and hazardous waste assessment and remediation. He has a M.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and a B.S. in Geology from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He also has his Professional Engineer licensure.
Shelby Joins Nobis as Senior Project Scientist // March 14 2011
Mr. Drew Shelby joined Nobis as a Senior Project Scientist in the Lowell Office. He has over 25 years experience in environmental remediation, including field sampling, project management, site construction management, and preparing specifications, and contract documents for remediation, demolition, abatement, and restoration activities. He has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Maine.
Nobis Selected as Team Member By EPA to Provide Oversight Services // March 11 2011
As a team member with Mabbett & Associates, Inc. of Bedford, Massachusetts, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a seven year on-call contract to provide CERCLA and RCRA oversight and enforcement support at active and former Federal facilities located throughout New England.
