Dr. Carol Stein joined Nobis as a Senior Project Geologist in the Lowell Office. Dr. Stein has a M.S./Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Harvard University, and a B.S. in Geology from The College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.
She is an expert in reviewing data—metals (arsenic in great detail), hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents in sediments, soils, and groundwater, and experienced in discussions on natural attenuation, marine dredging and harbor sediments, selection of background environments for sampling, evaluating data gaps for field investigations, mine work (precious-metal sulfide mine), Environmental Impact Statements, as well as involvement in Remedial Investigation (RI) and Feasibility Studies (FS) investigations.
