Project Engineer - Geotechnical (Lowell, MA)
Seeking a full-time Project Engineer to serve as a project team member to perform geotechnical engineering analysis, planning, and/or design tasks for roads and highways, landfills, buildings, towers, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, levees, dams, tunnels, and other infrastructure projects. Essential duties and responsibilities: Review and interpret engineering and environmental reports, maps, drawings, specifications, regulations, ordinances, field test results, design manuals, aerial photographs and other data necessary for geotechnical engineering projects. Communicate technical information with equipment and materials vendors, accurately document such communications, and apply the information obtained to the relevant project work. Will have involvement in the resolution of design problems and internal quality assurance. Observes test pits, soil borings, and rock corings and performs geotechnical classification of soils and rocks, field tests, and prepare boring logs. Select samples for laboratory testing. Prepare geotechnical design calculations, construction cost estimates, and determine the geotechnical feasibility of a project or project feature based on analysis of the prepared engineering calculations, cost estimates, and other collected data. Prepare, review and modify, as necessary geotechnical reports, specifications, plans, details, engineering calculations, construction schedules and cost estimates for a project. Observe and/or inspect project sites prior to, during, or after construction to monitor and/or assess construction progress and ensure conformance with engineering plans, specifications, regulations, and accepted construction and safety standards. Visit project sites and evaluate ongoing construction practices by meeting and talking with construction contractors and subcontractors, owners, regulators, and other consultants and prepare written construction inspection and observation summaries. Use Engineering software and computer hardware necessary to complete boring logs, engineering analysis and engineering design projects. Software may include computer assisted drafting and design (CADD) software, geotechnical software applications, and spreadsheet applications. Hardware may include personal computers and plotters to prepare engineering and design documents. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Bachelor of Science degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering curriculum with a strong concentration in geotechnical engineering required. (M.S. in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering preferred). Minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with pertinent sections of current building codes as well as AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification, MassDOT, NHDOT, Maine DOT, VTrans, RIDOT, and Conn DOT bridge and highway design manuals and specifications, working with MS Office software as well as geotechnical engineering software such as LPILE. Group, GRLWEAP, LogDraft, gINT, etc. will be required. PE in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to acquire within 12 months strongly desired. CADD Technician-Civil (Concord, NH)
Seeking a full-time temporary CADD Technician to utilize Computer Aided Design software, draft detailed construction drawings, profiles, details and related maps and specifications used in planning and construction of engineering projects such as site plans, subdivisions, retaining wall plans, landfill closures, highways, environmental site plans, geotechnical plans, river and harbor improvements, flood control, and drainage by performing the following duties. Essential duties: Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers, scientists, and geologists. Plots and reproduces drawings, maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, underground and overhead utilities, retaining walls, tunnels, and other structures. Drafts detailed drawings of structures and installations such as roads, culverts, drainage and sewage disposal systems, underground and overhead utilities, detention ponds, monitoring wells, and retaining walls. Assists with quantity take-off calculations and documentation. Computes volume of tonnage of excavations and fills and prepares graphs and hauling diagrams used in earthmoving operations. Accompanies engineers, scientists, and/or geologists in field to locate grading markers or to collect data required for revision of drawings. Other administrative and support duties from technical and non-technical departments may be assigned. Education and Experience: AAP, CV Technology required. Three to five years related experience and/or training. Able to work in AutoCad Civil 3D 2010 and in current versions of Microstation/Inroads and past experience with BIM preferred. Staff Engineer – Civil (Concord, NH)
Seeking a full-time Temporary Staff Engineer to serve as a project team member to perform civil engineering analysis, planning and design tasks as part of projects that involve roads and highways, landfills, subdivisions, site development, stormwater management structures, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams and infrastructure projects by performing the following duties. Assistance and/or guidance may be provided by more experienced staff members or supervisors. Essential duties: Review and interpret engineering reports, maps, drawings, specifications, regulations, ordinances, field test results, design manuals aerial photographs, and other data necessary for civil engineering projects. Communicate technical information with equipment and materials vendors, accurately document such communications, and apply the information obtained to the relevant project work. Prepare basic engineering calculations and work with project team members to evaluate the feasibility of engineering planning or design projects based on preparation and analysis of the engineering calculations and other pertinent data. Assist project team to prepare, review and modify, as necessary, technical reports, specifications, plans, details engineering calculations, and other engineering or project documents. With assistance from project team members observing and/or inspecting project sites prior to, during, or after construction to monitor and/or assess construction progress and ensuring conformance with engineering plans, specifications, regulations, and accepted construction and safety standards and prepare written construction inspection and observations summaries. Assignments may require travel. With assistance from project team members, collect necessary field data through observation or through basic field data collection techniques using basic field instruments such as field survey equipment, tape measurers, flow meters, turbidity samplers, sieve analyses, and cameras. Use engineering software and computer hardware necessary to complete engineering analysis and engineering design projects. Software may include computer assisted drafting and design (CADD) software, stormwater design software applications, and spreadsheet applications. Hardware may include personal computers and plotters to prepare engineering and design documents. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or engineering technology. 2-5 years experience and EIT/FE is required. CADD software, stormwater design software applications and spreadsheet applications preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical documents, engineering design drawings and calculations and regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, inspection reports, project correspondence and other necessary engineering products. Information Technology Manager (Concord, NH)
The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for the vision, leadership and direction of the IT related technical operations for the company. Will be responsible for short and long term planning, budget management, and the daily operation of the company’s IT infrastructure.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in technical field. 7-10 years of related IT experience with 2 to 3 years experience in the management of IT operations and personnel is required. 3-5 years of recent hands-on experience as a server/network administrator/engineer and with Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, exchange and SQL Server. Experience with LAN/WAN hardware products ISCSl data storage/backups, various methods of remote access, environment/security management and Linux Operating System. Knowledge of accounting, database, design, internet, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software packages is required.Solid project management skills. Project Engineer/Project Geologist - Environmental (Concord, NH)
Seeking a full-time Project Engineer / Project Geologist responsible for detailed evaluations of soil, groundwater, surface water, hazardous waste site investigation and remediation needs. Field Operations Lead (FOL) work for complex field studies. Must be able to utilize and understand components of field sampling equipment. Understanding and trouble-shooting of mechanical and electrical systems for remediation and/or operational equipment.

Essential duties: Review and interpret engineering reports, vendor submittals, maps, drawings, specifications, regulations, ordinances, field test results, design manuals, aerial photographs, and other data necessary for assigned projects. Communicate technical information with equipment and materials vendors, accurately document such communications, and apply the information obtained to the relevant project work. Must be able to evaluate site conditions, collect and analyze appropriate data, utilize software (Excel, Surfer/Grapher, etc.) and other methods to evaluate trends and perform calculations and prepare well-written and complete reports. Knowledge of SPCC Plans, air permitting, hydrogeological modeling (as applicable to degree), and NH and EPA regulations. Prepare calculations and work with project team members to evaluate the feasibility of projects based on preparation and analysis of the calculations and/or other pertinent data. Prepare, review and modify, as necessary, technical reports, such as Remedial Action Plans and/or Feasibility Studies, Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) for Brownfields/CERCLA sites, remedial action bid specifications for private, state or federal clients, detailed calculations, and other project documents. Significant involvement in field activities for all types of remedial design and construction projects. Use of applicable project scheduling software to evaluate staffing, budget, and schedule milestones. Oversee collection of necessary field data using basic field sampling and/or instruments such as field survey equipment, tape measures, flow meters, turbidity samplers, cameras, and standard environmental sampling equipment.

B.S. in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or B.S. in Geology or Hydrogeology. Master of Science is preferred but not required. (EIT required if engineer), NH PE or PG preferred. Minimum of 6 to 8 years experience with consulting firm with increased level of responsibility for chargeable project deliverables. Must be able to travel periodically.

Data Validation Specialist, Part-Time
Seeking a part-time Data Validation Specialist to perform data validation of organic and inorganic data obtained from multiple environmental sampling events. EPA Region I data validation guidance and National Functional Guidelines will be applied to CLP and non-routine analyses. Additionally, data evaluation assessments will be completed to provide input on final reports to compare data against initial project quality objectives. Other tasks will include preparing or contributing to project specific quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), assisting with laboratory or field audits, writing laboratory technical specifications for analysis and quality control, and coordination of laboratory services.

Essential Duties: Perform data validation in support of EPA RAC 2 contract. Prepare data validation memos and worksheets in accordance with EPA Region I guidance. Assist Lead Chemist with other duties as assigned which may include: reviewing DAS invoices, preparing Tier IV forms, assisting with DAS laboratory audits, drafting DAS technical specifications, preparing all or part of project-specific QAPPs, writing data evaluation assessments for project reports, scheduling analytical work, sample tracking, and assisting with data management. Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related science. One to two years experience in environmental laboratory, especially in GC/MS,GC,and/or ICP/ICP/MS analyses and one to two years experience in data validation is required. Knowledge of EPA Tier I through Tier III Data Validation Process and ability to prepare Region I DV Memos and Worksheets is preferred.
