Nobis designed an 11, 000± square foot Visitors Center as part of a Phase II addition to the existing Audubon Center. The overall design provides additional parking, site drainage and stormwater control/treatment, site grading, and a new septic system. With the assistance of Nobis’ design team, the Audubon obtained a variance from the City for the installation of a large gravel parking lot.
GOLD LEED Award Winning Project:
Nobis’ design team worked with the Audubon to achieve a “Gold” rating in the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. To obtain LEEDS points, Nobis designed additional stormwater treatment systems, reduced development footprint, alternative transportation and reduced heat generation (“heat island effects”) from parking lots and roof tops. At this time, it does not appear that wetland impacts will be required for this project. Nobis also worked with Clevis Systems of New England to design alternative wastewater and grey water disposal and treatment systems.Services
