NH/VT Landfill
Newport, NH
Nobis provided design, permitting, and construction management services to the NH/VT Ash Landfill, which received waste from 28 towns in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Currently, Nobis provides post-closure groundwater and landfill inspection monitoring to comply the site's Groundwater Release Detection Permit (GRDP) and in accordance with NHDES post-closure care regulations. The landfill is inspected on a regular basis for cap integrity, signs of erosion or drainage issues, and potential hazards relating to decomposition gas generation. Nobis also performs leachate flow monitoring, sampling, and disposal coordination. Additionally, groundwater quality data is assessed annually for compliance with the GRDP to monitor for potential leachate releases.
