Nobis Engineering performed civil engineering services for the renovation of the former Boott Cotton Mills in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts. The complex contains mills built from the mid-1830s to the early 20th century, reflecting the early use of water power, steam power and electric power. The project entailed converting the western portion of the mill into 110 units of loft-style condominium housing. The renovation of this important mill, situated on the Merrimack River and close to the downtown area contributes to the revitalization of the city by providing new opportunities for in-town living.
