As prime contractor for a 10-Year/$122M ID/IQ Remedial Action Contract (RAC) for Region 1 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Nobis has recently completed Targeted Brownfields Assessments (TBA) at more than 9 sites throughout New England in order to establish a path forward for the reinvestment and redevelopment of abandoned and/or underused contaminated properties.
The sites included former industrial, commercial and private use properties owned by municipalities and non-profit organizations:
- Former Norwich State Hospital, Preston, CT, a 419-acre multi-building former state hospital
- Former Caryville Mill, Bellingham, MA, a 21-acre former textile mill
- Former Wyman Flint & Sons, Bellows Falls, Vermont, a 13-acre former paper mill
- 25 East Main Street, Marlborough, MA, the former Jenney Gasoline station
- Former STC Property, Chelmsford, MA, a former electronics manufacturing facility
- Town of Sanford, ME, a former gasoline station and automotive service facility
- Former Bates Mill #5, Lewiston, ME, an 8.1-acre former textile mill complex
- United Neighbors of Lower Roxbury, Boston, MA, an abandoned church
- Former Tarr & Watson, Gloucester, MA, a 1.2-acre former paint factory
