VA Medical Center Office Building, White River Junction, VT
Nobis is providing civil and geotechnical engineering services for the Design/Build construction of a new 10,000 SF office building for the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (NCPTSD). Located on the VA Medical Center campus in White River Junction, Vermont. The project includes construction of a two-story office building, associated parking, sidewalks, drainage controls and utilities.
Nobis performed a geotechnical investigation and evaluation of the site subsurface conditions pertinent to design and construction of the new building. Due to the presence of high groundwater, Nobis provided design recommendations for a foundation underdrain system and temporary dewatering for construction.
Nobis prepared site plans for permitting and construction. Our services included parking lot and access road layout, site grading, drainage design/ analysis, design of utility relocations and service connections to the new building. To provide additional connectivity to the campus, Nobis designed a sidewalk and stairs to the upper parking lot. We coordinated with other engineering disciplines on utility connection locations and utility site features. We obtained a State of Vermont Stormwater Discharge Permit and a State Sewer Connection Permit.
